We recently acquired a laser cutter with a 100W RECI tube (W4) with a 900 x 600 mm cut area.We purchased some of the bells and whistles like the red dot, rotary unit, and motorized bed (Z axis, or U axis depending on your controller).
We had some issues at first, not with the laser itself, but with the chassis. Loose nuts and bolts mostly, really not much but a nuisance even though the machine traveled a long distance. Then we mistakenly changed the alignment of the mirrors while testing. When you first receive your laser, check the mirrors for contamination especially if it comes from overseas and clean them as directed by the manufacturer. Also, check with the laser tube manufacturer on the cleaning requirements of the laser tube output window mirror before attempting to clean, some manufacturers have very specific guidelines.
One other thing before you start, or when you purchase your laser cutter, pick up a pair of safety glasses that protect your eyes against the wavelength of laser that you are using. We purchased ours from Amazon because you never know when the laser might strike something that causes it to reflect in another direction. Safety First!
